I'm feeling a bit Saaby today ...

In the last week, we have taken in three SAABs (a 2005 9-3, a 2003 9-5, and a 1999 9-3 SE). The 1999 SAAB 9-3 SE caught my interest as it looks almost identicle to my wife's NG900. Although it has almost 170,000 miles, the fact that it is a turbo got me thinking. You know how it goes. Even though I get to drive a newer Volvo every day, it's hard not having my own car to tinker with.

It's not the right time to buy, but being the curious person that I am, I was wondering how to tell if it had the 185 hp or 200 hp engine. A simple Google search led me to an excellent saabcentral article with links to the most frequently asked questions about the 9-3. According to a forum answer, the 8th digit of the VIN# answers my question. Check it out.

In this picture there are two vehicles of interest to SAAB lovers. The first is a Subaru that was almost a Saab and the other is hidden somewhere in the used car lineup. Can you find it?
