Torvair

Something in Hemming's latest blog article resparked my interest in the Chevrolet Corvair. At the final cruise-in of the season,
Larry Boardman of Simsbury, Connecticut, brought up his 1967 Corvair, which he dubbed the “Torvair” based on the Toronado 430-cu.in. V-8 he crammed into the back.
I've heard of the V8 conversion kit where you can remove the back seat and slap a 350 in place. But I'd never thought of putting a Toronado engine back there. That must really scoot!

Check out the car and others here.
