Leikin Motor Company's 40th Anniversary

The Leikin family put together a get-together for all the employees at Leikin Motor Company. Employees from Volvo, Buick, Mercedes-Benz, the body shop, and various others were invited. To be honest, Sharon and I weren't sure what to expect. However, we were pleasantly surprised at the nice time we had.

The location was beautiful. They had rented a park near Neff Rd. and Lake Shore Blvd. right on Lake Erie. While we were there we were able to see a beautiful sunset and even an ultralight flying over the lake. The food was also good. A catering company served coleslaw, salad, beef hot dogs, chicken breast sandwiches, burgers, barbecue baby potatoes, and ribs. It was really good.

But I have to say that the most enjoyable part of it (besides having an evening alone with my wife) was interacting with the guys and their wives. Sharon and one of the ladies hit it off right away. That was good to see. You know how being in a strange place with people you don't know can be a bit odd. But despite not knowing many people, she and I were able to enjoy our time making new friends.
