1957 Plymouth Belvedere

Fifty years ago, a brand new 1957 Plymouth Belvedere was buried in a time vault. Back then around 800 people guessed at the 2007 population of Tulsa, Oklahoma for a chance to win the car in fifty years. Somebody's guess was closest, but even if he was still alive (he died in 1979), he'd never get to drive it. The underground vault leaked and the recently unveiled car looks worse than most cars in a northeast Ohio junk yard. (More pictures are available here.)

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

Matthew 6:19-21
