A few miles ago, we invested in a pair of Nokian tires for the front of the Saab. I've heard good things about their snow tires but couldn't justify spending $120 per tire. So, we settled for all season Nokian i3s. They have a nice look to them all around but until this afternoon, I had missed a very interesting aspect of their design. On the outer wall of each tire, there is a small green indicator arrow which marks where the tire was installed. That certainly would be helpful when you get the wheels mixed up during a brake job. Add that to the ingenious wear indicator (on the tread itself) and you have to admit that these Swedes have come up with some good ideas.
